Gala of Hope: Important Details

After so much time, it is our great honor to host you at your home for the 19th Annual Gala of Hope, this Saturday, April 16th! We are grateful you have chosen to go down the rabbit hole with us in support of Island Health. Below you will find important event details and helpful “how to” tips and tricks that will enhance your experience.
How to Attend the Gala of Hope at Home
Viewing the Gala
We recommend usings two devices to join the Gala of Hope from home.
With your largest device, we suggest viewing the live auction on your largest screen, such as smart TV or computer. To join the simulcast, please visit www.myihf.org/gala-of-hope by 7:00 pm on Saturday, April 16th and click the “play” image to start your adventure into Wonderland!
Once you’ve logged on, use your second, smaller screen, such as tablet or phone, to give. For tips on how to give, please see the “How to Participate: Live Auction & ‘Heartstrings’ Donations” section below.
Heartstrings “Raise-the-Paddle” for the ICU
Every year the Island Hospital Foundation dedicates the Heartstrings “Raise-the-Paddle” donations to fund a specific need for Island Heath. This year, your Heartstrings donation will support patients suffering from life-threatening illness or injury in the Intensive Care Unit at Island Hospital. Funding will support leading edge technology, increase patient and provider safety, improve patient outcomes, and support families by keeping critical care close to home.
Specific needs:
- New Tilt Beds
- IV Pumps
- Wall Mounted Computers
- New Glidescope
- Portable Ultrasound Machine
How to Participate: Live Auction & “Heartstrings” Donations
You can make a live-saving difference for the most critically ill and injured in your community. There are three ways that you can participate during the live event.
1. Proxy Bidder (Live Auction): If you would like to bid on a live auction item, please call our office at 360-299-4201 by 5 pm on Friday, April 15th so we can set up a proxy bidder on your behalf. When you call, please let us know which auction item(s) you would like to bid on and your maximum bid amount.
2. Text to Give (Donation): At any point in time, text “Heartstrings” to 366283 to make a contribution in support of the ICU. Follow the onscreen prompts.
3. Donate Online: please visit www.myifh.org/gala-of-hope and click the “Donate” button to make a donation during the event, or click here.
